The process for making yellow tea is similar to that of green but with an added step called ‘sweltering’. The leaves are wrapped in cloth or paper to induce a mild oxidation process through steaming. Yellow tea offers a mellow flavor that is similar to green tea but does not have the grassy aroma associated with green tea and tends to have a smoother taste.
